Teaching Apprenticeship Program
Teacher training program for graduate students. Consists of two parts:
1. Teaching Apprenticeship Program (TAP; 15-week course)
Taught a section of PSYCH 110 while other students in the TAP program taught their own individual sections. This provided a community of other instructors (new and experienced leaders guiding our progress) to discuss highs, lows, concerns, etc. There were also professional development opportunities present throughout the semester.
2. Principles of College Teaching (15-week course)
More formal training about the basics of college teaching. Chances to develop a course (final project) for feedback on course structure before teaching. Introduced topics related to assessment practices, policies, and much more.
3
Professional Development Certificates
Certificates earned through the Graduate School and the Teaching and Learning Center by attending events and submitting reflections about those events.
4
Global Campus Development Grant
Wrote a grant for a chance to develop PSYCH 625 (Human Factors Psychology) in an online format when there was a demand for this course to be offered online for cross-training in other areas of the university. Grant was funded and I was award $9,000 for the time it takes to redevelop a course in this format after previously teaching in-person.
