Undergraduate Led Research
These will be projects that I mentored Undergraduate Research Assistants on during their time in the research lab. Some projects were strictly for learning about the research process and some were more advanced projects that were taken to conferences and/or submitted for publication.
Older Adult Social Engagement Impact on Facial Recognition
Students: Trase McQueen & Ellie Warnes
Description: This project is investigating how different social activities that older adults participate in potentially impact their ability to remember faces.

Student Classroom Engagement and Achievement
Student: Ryan Dix
Description: An investigation of how students weekly class engagement may influence overall course grades. This project is using data collected during the previous semesters as post-investigation of how engaged students are with material and if grades are related to that rating.

Impact of Older Adult Medical History on Visual and Verbal Memory Processes
Students: Kayli Potter & Sarah Sanders
Description: This project is taking data that was used to screen older adults for any signs of dementia in another older adult memory study and seeing if there are relationships between any demographic or medical history data and memory ability. Memory measures here could be verbal or visual based measures.

Cognitive Load Impacts on Student Learning
Student: Sean Neyland
Description: This project is investigating the impacts of different instructional methods that have been shown to increase bad cognitive load on student’s classroom performance and memory.

Emotional Responses and their Impact on Long-Term Memory and Learning
Student: Sarah Sanders
Description: Exact questions are in the works, but the overall goal is to investigate how emotional trauma symptoms are related to long-term learning and memory.
